  • The Main Stage and facilities may be rented for a wide variety of performance and event activities.
  • Rates vary depending on daily vs. weekly use, rehearsal vs. performance use and private organizations vs. not-for-profit organizations.
  • Rental does not include Box Office fee, technical labor, piano tuning, or special equipment.
  • Thalian Hall provides ushers, front of house, and concessionaires.
  • Rental clients must make application to the Executive Director at 910-343-3660 in the business office of the Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts, Inc.

STAGE RIGGING AND DRESSING

  • Thalian Hall is equipped with a single purchase flying arbor counterweight system capable of lifting 25 pounds per linear foot.
  • Maximum flying height is 40'-0"
  • Battens are 38'-0" to 40'-0" in length
  • There are a total of 45 battens. See enclosed drawing for placement
  • There are normally 29 free battens available
  • The locking rail is located Stage Left
  • The Valance and Main Rag are dark green in color and are located on line sets 1 and 2. The Main Rag is rigged to Fly or Travel
  • The 1st Electric is hard wired with 26 circuits and is located on line set 5
  • The Cyclorama is light gray and measures 40'-0" x 20'-0". It is permanently installed on line set 45
  • The theatre has both a black scrim and a white scrim
  • The theatre has a black velour traveler, which is permanently located on line set number 22
  • The theatre has 4 pairs of 25oz black velour Legs which measure 20'-0" x 8'-0".
  • The theatre has 4 borders, which measure 8'-0" x 40'-0". They are also made of 25oz. Black velour

ELECTRICS AND LIGHTING

  • The house lights for the theatre are on a separate dimming system than the stage lights. The controls for the house lights are located at the Stage Managers position SR as well as in the Booth. The theatre is equipped with a ETC Expression lighting console. The booth is located at the back of the second balcony, Gallery level. The system allows for the remote operation from either the stage or the center of the Parquet level (ground floor). A single person genie lift is available for focus, as well as an assortment of ladders.

Circuit Information

HOUSE SOUND INVENTORY

  • Mixing Console is located at the house right rear of the Mezzanine Level
  • Main speaker cluster is located above the Proscenium Arch. The cluster is comprised of 6 Meyer UPA-1A bi-amped cabinets with 2 Meyer subs on either end.
  • There is an infrared hearing-impaired system in the theatre
  • All mic inputs terminate at the mixing location
  • Stereo main outputs of the console are patched as Left out, main mono cluster; Right out, under balcony amps and speakers. Attenuators on amps and crossovers have been balanced so that when channels are panned to center, an even balance of sound is distributed through-out the theatre
  • Under balcony speakers are on 22ms delay

Intercom System

  • The theatre is equipped with a Clear-com communication system. The master control
  • station is located stage right in the Stage Manager's area. The system allows for 2-way
  • communication with all areas of the theatre, as well as paging to the dressing rooms.
